Encouragement and Recognition

There is nothing like a kind word to brighten one’s day.  This is especially true for me, and it didn’t take reading The Five Love Languages for me to figure this out – though reading it definitely and completely confirmed it.  I still keep a folder from my teaching days with thank you notes and encouraging e-mails from students and their parents.  You know all those times you think about sending a sweet note to thank a teacher? Well, I can tell you that they mean the world!  I try to remind myself of this when my own thank you notes  never make it further than my own mental notepad.  Sometimes it’s a little more than the thought that counts, even though I am way too often guilty of this.

Since becoming a mother, I have learned even more how much we need the support and encouragement of others.  For all my shortcomings as a mother, I must be honest and say that my heart beams with pride when someone offers even a simple compliment, whether it be for me, my children, or my husband.  Especially when  having an especially challenging moment, day, week…it can literally feel like someone picks you up, places you on your feet, and gives you a gentle little pat to keep on going.
So, with that, I want to send my most sincere “Thank you!” to Bonnie at Simply This and That for a Liebster Blog award nomination.  What a sweet gesture of encouragement!  I am pretty new to this public blogging world, and it can be overwhelming at times.  Thank you for your support and the little push to keep on!
Once a blogger is fortunate enough to be recognized, here are the rules of passing on this encouragement to others:

1) Thank your nominator (and link back!).
2) Nominate 5 other blogs, with less than 200 followers and post a comment on each blog letting them know they have been given the award.
3) Copy and paste the award onto your blog.

I happily pass along this award to the following bloggers!  These blogs inspire me in many ways, from finding strength through infertility, sharing the joys and struggles of raising twins, braving a new craft project (a scary territory for me!), and motivating me to inspire and challenge my toddlers.  I really appreciate the time you take to share your talents!  Thank you!
