To Each, Their Own

A few scenes from a typical summer afternoon in the backyard. One, content, for days, in his shed. Ever wonder how a mower works?  This kid can tell you. Meanwhile, down in his Treehouse... This one is lost in a little magic of his own. Twins, these two.  But each their own man. … [Read more...]

1-2-3 Magic for Kids – A Review and Giveaway

(The following review is for the book, 1-2-3 Magic for Kids.  I received materials to facilitate the review and giveaway as well as compensation for this post.  All opinions are my own and the following review reflects my honest experience with the 1-2-3 Magic method and materials.) As a new(ish) parent, I often find myself asking my parents what they did right in raising me to become the functional and happy adult that I am (most days of the week).  And, I often ask my husband … [Read more...]

Proud. A Potty Tale

I swore I'd never be that parent who posted about my kids' poop on Facebook.  (And, no, that apostrophe is not lost. I have a pair of poopers in my house - aka, twins.) I'm not sure if it's the "ew" factor (which let's face it, I should be over given the amount of it I wipe, clean, smell, or otherwise encounter on a daily basis) or the fact that I'm secretly green with envy over these parents whose kids are actually one step closer to saying "Good Riddance!" to diapers, but I sort of cringe … [Read more...]

A Few Good Reads when Expecting Twins

Being ever at each other's side, the boys definitely have their tiffs and "sharing disputes," but there are also many sweet moments to remember.  I am truly thankful for these times - and there are plenty - as they help to maintain my "patience tank" during the more challenging moments.  What helps maintain your … [Read more...]

Strollers

Some of the biggest questions my husband and I had before the boys were born were regarding strollers; double-wide vs double-deep, one double or two separate (or both), which brand(s), and how much is it going to cost to wheel these boys around town???  Now, it is one of the questions we get asked the most by twin-parents-to-be. (Being in a local twins club with over 100 members, you tend to get that question more than you might expect.) Anyway, here is what works for us.  All...5 of … [Read more...]
